Life in Colorado
What's happening in our part of the world.

As we draw to the end of another glorious Rocky Mountain summer, start making plans to visit us for the changing of the colors.  When the aspens begin to change, the world is aglow with colors that astound.  The days are still warm, the evenings crisp and clear and the crowds are less.  It's the perfect time to enjoy all that the Rocky Mountains have to offer.  Join us soon.

The Rockies!  Nowhere else.

Echo Mountain Park

Check out Echo Mountain Park.  There's skiing and snowboarding right here in our own backyard.

What's new on the menu.

You tell us what you want to see on our menu.  If it's possible, we'll include it in our next menu change.  Send us an email and let us know.

Around town.

Did we mention the great shops that are our neighbors?

Our historic downtown has great shopping and dining to offer.  On the east side of us is the Emporium, specializing in Celtic and Scottish items.  Just to the east of the Emporium is Way Out West.  You have to see this place.  Lisa is our newest neighbor and offers a fantastic selection of Carharts, clothing, jewelry and everything else you might want to take home.

There's the Soap Shop that you'll want to stop in.  Don't miss Margie's Place with a little something for everyone.  Margie also does old time photos for souveniers.  Stop in and see Margie and George. http://www.margiesoletimephotos.com/

Idaho Springs also boasts one of the finest local roasters around, Java Mountain Roasters.  Stop in and see Asta and try one of her favorite blends.

How about Rocky Mountain Log Furniture?  Wow, what a store.  You can't leave without something that's for sure.  They're on the corner, can't miss them.  http://www.rmlf.com/

Also, there is the Wild Grape.  Judy has one of the largest gift selections in Colorado.  My daughter loves her store and never misses it when she's in town.  If ever a shop could be perfection, it would definitely be the Wild Grape.  By the way, if you're a wine enthusiast, ask Judy for a suggestion.  She has great taste in wines as well.

Canyon Clothing is right down the block and across the street.  They've also added an annex on our block just one door away.  Stop in and say hello.  There's also All Things Western.  Chic western wear and more are available.

When you're looking for a great wood stove or antiques, go see Skipper Gorman.   Skipper has stoves like your greatgrandmother used!  Besides, he's a character and a local tourist attraction.  He'll welcome you and share a story or two if you ask him.   http://www.antiquestovesCO.com

There is also Loveland Ski just a few minutes west on I70.  They offer classes for all skill levels.

What to do after a day outdoors?
After a day of skiing, hiking, rafting or just for the heck of it, pamper yourself at Bodyworks Spa & Massage.  They're located in Frisco, close to just about everywhere.  http://FriscoBodyworks.com

Come soon and often!
